Terms & Conditions
The aim of counselling/psychotherapy is to provide you with an opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in safety, to assist your learning, healing and growth. If at any time you cannot be helped in this way at Blanchardstown Counselling Services, you will be offered to be referred to a more suitable counsellor or specialised institution in the Dublin area, who can better assist you.
In order to ensure a smooth and successful collaboration, the following counselling agreement applies:
A) Session Times
Sessions are ordinarily on a weekly bases and will last 50 minutes. All sessions will be held at Blanchardstown Therapy Centre, 3 Main Road, Blanchardstown Village. Please be on time as counselling will be for the duration of the session, but not beyond the end of the agreed full hour.
B) Cancellations and Holidays
If you cannot attend for a reason, please give notice by texting to 087 7056131. Sessions need to be cancelled 24hrs+ in advance, and no charges apply for timely cancellations. If for any reason the session is cancelled within the 24hrs before your scheduled session, or in case of a no-show without prior notification, a fee of EUR 15 applies for that missed session.
Blanchardstown Counselling Services offers a sliding scale of fees. Payments are due after every session and can be paid by cash.
Our work together remains strictly confidential, and what we talk about won't be disclosed to anyone outside of the sessions. Exceptions to this are counselling supervision, or if you or someone else were in danger or at risk of harm - especially in the case of child protection. In these cases confidentiality will be broken and such disclosures will be passed onto the relevant authority. In exceptional circumstances, it might be necessary to contact your GP.
F) Ethical Standard and Complaints
Blanchardstown Counselling Services abides by the principles of respect for the client, competence, responsibility and integrity - as laid out by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). These standards are available at http://www.irish-counselling.ie/index. php/code-ethics. Should you wish to make a complaint, you can address the complaint to the IACP as well.
G) Termination of Counselling
You can terminate counselling at any time. However, in the normal course of events you will probably know a few weeks or months ahead, when you are ready to finish counselling. We will then agree together on the work we need to do to prepare for this and also try to resolve any outstanding important issues.
Hand-written notes/records will be taken and kept after each session. These are to help in the work with you, they are only disclosed to clinical supervisor(s) as outlined above. The notes are being stored, handled, transferred and disposed of securely and in a way that safeguards your right to privacy.
